POWER, SOUND, AND A ROCK WALL

MAKE THEIR ENTRY INTO THE GROVE

Thanks to the efforts of Rob Rowe, we now have the capability of either piping music to the Grove via CD players in the church building, OR connecting electronic instruments to a remote power outlet near the Grove Chapel.  The outlet can additionally serve to power tools needed to create or maintain Grove features.

Last fall, the trench was dug–according to local municipal code–to accommodate both speaker and electric cables.  This summer, Rob has completed the connections at the terminal ends of the cables so that, hopefully, music will soon be heard in the Grove!  Many thanks, Rob!

A by-product of all the trench-digging for the cables was the substantial rock wall on the west side of the Grove.  The wall of rocks that were excavated during the digging of the cable trench is bisected by a huge indigenous boulder.  The boulder represents a Grove Feature that, with some interpretation, will come to symbolize Christ as the ‘Foundation’ of our Faith and Hope as Christians.  The rocks in the wall of course, will symbolize the followers of Christ who are committed to their belief in “The Church’s One Foundation.”
