Shared Ministries

Together we can do great things in the name of Jesus, by supporting the world wide ministries of the United Methodist Church in its local, regional and global mission work.

When we join The United Methodist Church, we promise faithfully to participate in its ministries through our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.   It’s as simple as people coming together, combining their money to accomplish something bigger than themselves supporting the world wide ministries of the United Methodist Church.

By combining several smaller gifts into a larger amount, we can effect change across the world. Individual churches can minister to a small area; however, as a connectional church, we can do big things, all in the name of Jesus Christ.

Every United Methodist Church is billed for Shared Ministries  expenses no different than other bills we receive like utilities and a mortgage. These funds go to Greater New Jersey UMC, our local conference, and also to support UMC Global Shared Ministries.

The Greater New Jersey Annual Conference supports many projects and partnerships including:

Red Bird Mission - Each year, members of the Greater NJ Churches "Northeast Brigade" participate in a home repair work camp through the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, an isolated area in the Appalachian Mountains where three of the poorest counties in America come together.

CUMAC- CUMAC feeds people and changes lives.  It works to alleviate hunger and its root causes for those in need in Paterson, Passaic County and northern New Jersey.

Imagine No Malaria - Imagine No Malaria is more than just a campaign against a disease that kills children and destroys families. It’s a movement, to make real change in the world.

Neighborhood Center of Camden - The Neighborhood Center, Inc. is an urban outreach mission of the Greater New Jersey Conference United Methodist Churches, and part of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist church.

North Katanga Partnership- Wings of the Morning is a United Methodist sponsored flight ministry that provides the only means for critically ill persons in isolated areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo to reach medical facilities.

United Methodist Homes -United Methodist Homes' mission is to provide quality and caring services to senior men and women in a Christian community.

Shared Ministries Donation envelopes are on the back table for return during the year. Please help us meet our goal of full payment each year, so that we can fulfill our mission to Christ.
