On an ongoing basis, our members
donate non-perishable items that are then taken to the Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church to be distributed to families in need.
Outreach Fund -
Our Pastor uses the Outreach Fund
to help members and folks in the community with all financial of emergencies
such as medical issues and utilities being shut off. The Outreach Fund is only made
possible by donations. so please donate
throughout the year as you are able.
Senior Citizen's Harvest Dinner -
In early November each year, we have a free Senior Citizen's
Harvest Dinner where we serve a turkey and ham dinner to approximately 75-100
area senior citizens.
Food Baskets - Through the generous donations
of our members, we prepare Holiday Food baskets at Thanksgiving, Christmas
and Easter for local families in need. Presents for children are also distributed
at Christmas through the Angel Tree donations.
- From April through November,
teams of youth and adults meet 3-4 times to clean up a 2 mile
stretch of Silver Lake Road between Route 739 and Childs Park.
Students Care Packages - Members donate snacks and
these are mailed in the fall to DFUMC's College Students who appreciate
the care packages.
the fall, teams of people from our church participate in the area Tri-States CROP Walk in
the fall to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
Each year, members of our church participate in a home repair work camp through
the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, an isolated area in the Appalachian Mountains
where three of the poorest counties in America come together.
Together we can do great things in the name of Jesus, by supporting the world
wide ministries of the United Methodist Church in its local, regional and
global mission work.
Bread for the World
